We have discovered the most amazing bakery in Downtown Minneapolis, located directly above Hell’s Kitchen, and appropriately named Angel Food Bakery.  It truly is like a little angel for my daughter, Grace.  Since her diagnosis we have been able to bake at home or find most of her favorite treats at local bakeries.  However, we have struggled to find donuts.  My daughter loves donuts.  I have tried many times to make safe donuts at home, but they have not lived up to Grace’s expectations.  I totally get it.  There is something so special about driving to your favorite donut shop on a Saturday morning, looking through the glass display case at all of the options, and then choosing the one that calls your name.  I wanted Grace to have that experience.  Angel Food Bakery was our answer; it’s Grace’s little donut angel.  Check out the picture of her eating her first Angel Food Donut.  She is truly bursting with happiness.  It was a special moment as her mom to watch her stuff her face with the giant chocolate donut.  And, for Grace’s birthday this year we ordered their “Happy Birthday” letter donuts for our family.  They were a huge success, enjoyed by family members from ages 3 - 70, and best of all they made Grace smile!
